Official Grading


 

The following is a capsule of upgrading requirements. For a more detailed review you may want to check the National Organizing Committee's Upgrading Criteria document.

To upgrade, you will need to:

  1. renew your membership, if you have not done so for the current year,
  2. attend meets, and clinics, as detailed below.
    - Record your attendance on the Athletics Alberta Officials Record Card and have it signed by the discipline's chief or referee, and
  3. complete the exam or evaluation, as may be applicable.

Event credits are determined as follows:

Upgrading reviews take place each May and September. For grade levels I - III, you must forward your Athletics Alberta Officials Meet Record Card(s) to:

to be considered for upgrading.

A new card will be forwarded to you as confirmation the office has received your card.

For upgrading to Level IV or V, you must forward your request for upgrading along with your meet record cards, mentoring reports, etc. to:

In either case, please keep a copy of your records for your own files.
